London, 18th Sept. President Droupadi Murmu arrived in London on Saturday evening to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral and offer condolences on behalf of the Indian government.
President Murmu is in the UK for three days and will attend Monday’s funeral service as well as a reception for world leaders hosted by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace on Sunday evening.
“President Droupadi Murmu departs for London, United Kingdom, to attend H.M. Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral and offer condolences on behalf of the Government of India,” the Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted as the plane took off from Delhi.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar paid a visit to the British High Commission in New Delhi on September 12 to offer India’s condolences, a day after the country observed a day of national mourning.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed earlier this week that the President will visit London to express condolences on behalf of the Indian government.
“In the 70 years of reign of HM Queen Elizabeth II, India-UK ties have evolved, flourished and strengthened immensely. She played an important role in the welfare of millions of people around the world as Head of the Commonwealth,” the MEA statement stated.
