Patna: As Bihar prepares for its Assembly elections scheduled later this year, the race for the Chief Minister’s post has intensified. A recent C-Voter survey has created ripples in the state’s political landscape by showing a significant surge in Prashant Kishor’s popularity, surpassing current CM Nitish Kumar in the preferred CM face rankings.
According to the survey findings, Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) remains the most popular choice for Chief Minister, with 36% of respondents backing him. However, this reflects a 5% drop compared to the previous survey.
In a surprise development, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has climbed to the second spot, with 17% of the people favoring him as their top choice for CM. This marks a 2% increase in his popularity, signaling growing public support for his leadership.
Sitting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, once hailed as ‘Sushasan Babu’ for his governance, has slipped to the third position. Only 15% of respondents named him as their preferred CM, a decline of 3% since the last survey.
On the fourth spot is Samrat Choudhary, who has received an encouraging 13% support, registering a 5% rise in popularity. Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party stands at fifth place, with 6% of respondents favoring him—a 2% increase from the earlier survey.
