Political Stir in Gujarat Intensifies as Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani Resigns from His Post

Ahmedabad, 11th Sep. Big news is coming ahead of assembly elections in Gujarat. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has resigned from his post. CM Rupani met the Governor and submitted his resignation to him.

After this sudden news the political stir in Gujarat has intensified. CM Rupani’s big decision came out at a time when 15 the assembly elections were just 15 months away.

Vijay Rupani thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other party leaders after submitting his resignation to the Governor.

After his resignation, Rupani in his interaction with the media said, “I have resigned from my post. I have conveyed my desire to work in the party organization under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP President to the top leadership. BJP observers have come here and the party will soon decide on the name of the new chief minister.”

Rupani took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the first time on 7 August 2016.

Assembly elections were held in the state in the year 2017 in which BJP formed the government after getting a majority by winning 99 out of 182 seats. In the legislature party meeting, Rupani was elected as the leader of the legislature party. Rupani took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the second time on 26 December 2017.
