Varanasi, 17th Nov. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally inaugurate the month-long Kashi-Tamil Samagam in Varanasi on Saturday.
He will also address the public during his three-hour stay in his parliamentary constituency, according to Mahanagar Chairman Vidyasagar Rai.
Modi will formally inaugurate the samagam at the Banaras Hindu University’s (BHU) amphitheatre grounds.
The Kashi-Tamil Samagam is being organized in Varanasi with the goal of revitalizing cultural ties between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu.
It is a central government initiative as part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.’
The program aims to highlight the Tamil language and culture while celebrating the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’
From November 17 to December 16, the program will seek to rediscover the centuries-old knowledge bond and ancient civilisational link between Kashi (Varanasi) and Tamil Nadu.
