Kuwait, 21st Dec. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as the first program of his visit to Kuwait, visited a labour camp in the Mina Abdullah area, housing around 1,500 Indian nationals.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi interacted with workers from various Indian states, inquiring about their well-being and acknowledging their contributions.
The visit to the labour camp underscores the Prime Minister’s focus on the welfare of Indian workers abroad. In recent years, the Government of India has launched several technology-driven initiatives for the betterment of these workers, including the E-Migrate portal, MADAD portal, and an upgraded Pravasi Bharatiya Bima Yojana, all aimed at enhancing support for Indian nationals working overseas.
The Prime Minister’s gesture further strengthens India’s commitment to improving the living and working conditions of its overseas workforce.
