New Delhi, 9th Sept. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called on the people of India to actively participate in nominating deserving individuals for the prestigious Padma Awards.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of recognizing grassroots-level heroes who have made significant contributions to society, emphasizing that their remarkable achievements often go unrecognized.
In a recent post on X, Prime Minister Modi expressed his satisfaction with the number of nominations received so far but urged more people to come forward and nominate deserving candidates.
He emphasized that the Padma Awards nomination process is designed to be transparent and participatory, allowing ordinary citizens to honor those who have made a real difference in their communities.
“Over the last decade, we have honoured countless grassroots-level heroes with the #PeoplesPadma. The life journeys of the awardees have motivated countless people. Their grit and tenacity are clearly visible in their rich work,” the Prime Minister said.
He added that the government is committed to making the system more inclusive and transparent, inviting public participation in the nomination process.
The official nomination portal is available at awards.gov.in. The deadline for submitting nominations is September 15, 2024. PM Modi encouraged everyone to utilize this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of individuals who embody the spirit of service and dedication.
The Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian honors in India, are conferred in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri, recognizing exceptional contributions in various fields such as art, literature, science, public service, and more.
