Mumbai, 19th Sept. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Wardha, Maharashtra, on September 20, where he will participate in the National ‘PM Vishwakarma’ Programme, marking one year of the scheme’s progress.
During the event, scheduled for 11:30 AM, the Prime Minister will distribute certificates and loans to beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma scheme, which supports artisans across 18 different trades. A commemorative stamp will also be released to honour the scheme’s achievements over the past year.
In Amravati, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park. This 1,000-acre facility, developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, is part of a national initiative to position India as a global textile manufacturing hub, attracting large investments and creating jobs.
Additionally, PM Modi will launch the “Acharya Chanakya Kaushalya Vikas Scheme,” aimed at providing free skill development training to around 1.5 lakh youths annually in Maharashtra. The scheme targets individuals aged 15 to 45, with training centres set up in colleges across the state.
The visit will also see the launch of the “Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar Women Start-Up Scheme,” offering up to ₹25 lakh in financial support to women-led startups, with 25% of funds reserved for women from backward and economically weaker sections.
