New Delhi, 25th Nov: Prime Minister will inaugurate Indian space startup Skyroot’s Infinity Campus on 27th November at 11 AM via video conferencing. He will also unveil the company’s first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, capable of launching satellites into orbit.
The Infinity Campus, described as a state-of-the-art innovation hub, spans nearly 200,000 square feet and is designed for end-to-end development of launch vehicles. The facility will support designing, developing, integrating and testing multiple rockets, with the capacity to produce one orbital-class launch vehicle every month.
Skyroot, co-founded by IIT alumni and former ISRO scientists Pawan Chandana and Bharath Dhaka, has emerged as India’s leading private space company. In November 2022, it successfully launched Vikram-S, becoming the first Indian private firm to send a rocket to space.
The rise of Skyroot and other private space enterprises highlights the impact of recent reforms introduced by the government, which have opened the sector to private participation. These reforms are widely viewed as a catalyst in strengthening India’s position as a global space power.
