PM Modi Reviews Relief Efforts and Impact of Cyclone “Remal”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the impact of cyclone “Remal” at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, on Sunday.

During the meeting, the PM was briefed about the extensive impact of the cyclone on the affected states. Discussions covered the loss of human lives and damage to houses and properties due to landslides and floods in Mizoram, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura.

NDRF teams have been deployed according to the needs of the affected areas. These teams have been actively involved in evacuation, airlifting, and road clearance operations. It was also mentioned that the Ministry of Home Affairs is maintaining regular communication with the State Governments to ensure coordinated efforts.

Prime Minister Modi affirmed that the Government of India will continue to provide full support to the states affected by the cyclone. He has instructed the Ministry of Home Affairs to monitor the situation closely and review it regularly to extend necessary assistance for restoration efforts.

The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary to the PM, Cabinet Secretary, Home Secretary, Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, DG NDRF, Member Secretary of NDMA, and other senior officials from the PMO and concerned ministries.
