PM Modi Praises Marathi Community in Nigeria for Preserving Cultural Roots

New Delhi, 17th Nov. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Marathi community in Nigeria for staying connected to their cultural heritage and roots. His appreciation came after the community expressed joy over the Marathi language being granted the status of a Classical Language.

Sharing his thoughts on social media platform X, PM Modi wrote:
“In Nigeria, the Marathi community expressed joy at Marathi being conferred the status of a Classical Language. It is truly commendable how they remain connected to their culture and roots.”

The Marathi community in Nigeria, part of India’s vibrant global diaspora, celebrated the recognition of their mother tongue, reflecting their enduring connection to India’s rich linguistic and cultural traditions.
