PM Modi Pays Tribute to Mahatma Phule on His Birth Anniversary
New Delhi— Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid rich tributes to Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on his birth anniversary, describing him as a true servant of humanity whose life was dedicated to the upliftment of the oppressed and marginalized sections of society.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Respectful tributes to Mahatma Phule on his birth anniversary. A true servant of humanity, he devoted his life to the welfare of the oppressed and deprived sections of society. His invaluable contribution to the nation will continue to inspire generations.”
Mahatma Phule, a 19th-century social reformer, is widely remembered for his pioneering work in the fields of education, caste reform, and women’s empowerment. Along with his wife, Savitribai Phule, he established the first school for girls in India and relentlessly worked to eradicate caste-based discrimination.
