New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr. Shankar Rao Tatwawadi, a distinguished scholar and veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Pracharak, who passed away in Nagpur at the age of 92.
Dr. Tatwawadi was a former Vishwa Vibhag Samyojak (International Coordinator) of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), the global arm of the RSS, and previously led the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in the United Kingdom. He was widely respected for his work in expanding the RSS’s global outreach and inspiring a spirit of inquiry among students during his association with Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
Prime Minister Modi paid tribute, highlighting Dr. Tatwawadi’s extensive contributions to nation-building and India’s cultural regeneration. “I consider myself fortunate to have interacted with him on several occasions, both in India and overseas. His ideological clarity and meticulous style of working always stood out,” Modi said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his condolences, acknowledging Dr. Tatwawadi’s dedicated service to the RSS and his role in promoting India’s cultural and spiritual heritage on a global scale.
