PM Modi Mourns Demise of Former Kashi Vishwanath Temple Mahant Dr. Kulpati Tiwari

New Delhi, 27th June. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over the demise of Dr. Kulpati Tiwari, former Mahant of Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

In a statement, PM Modi said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Dr. Kulpati Tiwari Ji, former Mahant of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Dr. Kulpati Ji served Baba Vishwanath with unwavering devotion for many years and today he has merged with Baba’s divine presence. His departure to the abode of Lord Shiva is an irreparable loss for Kashi.”

काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिर के पूर्व महंत डॉ. कुलपति तिवारी जी के निधन का दुखद समाचार प्राप्त हुआ। डॉ. कुलपति जी ने दीर्घकाल तक बाबा विश्वनाथ की अनन्य भाव से सेवा की और आज बाबा के चरणों में लीन हो गए। उनका शिवलोकगमन काशी के लिए एक अपूरणीय क्षति है।

Dr. Kulpati Tiwari, the former head priest of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, has passed away, leaving Kashi in mourning. He had been suffering from a neurological illness for several months and was admitted to Oriana Hospital. He breathed his last on Wednesday evening, around 5:30 PM. His body has been brought to his residence in Tedhiniya and will be cremated at Manikarnika Ghat. The news of his demise has plunged the religious community of Kashi into grief.
