PM Modi Meets Keizai Doyukai Delegation to Strengthen India-Japan Economic Ties

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a high-powered delegation from Keizai Doyukai, the Japan Association of Corporate Executives, led by Chairperson Takeshi Niinami, to discuss deepening economic cooperation between India and Japan. The meeting, held at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, focused on trade expansion, investment opportunities, and collaboration across key sectors, including technology, infrastructure, defence, clean energy, space, and MSMEs.

PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to a business-friendly environment, highlighting the Japan Plus system, designed to fast-track Japanese investments. “India’s governance is policy-driven, ensuring transparency and predictability,” he stated, encouraging Japanese businesses to invest without hesitation.

Emphasizing India’s manufacturing potential, he noted that the country’s youth, skilled workforce, and low-cost labor make it an attractive destination. He also underscored India’s growing role in AI, aviation, green energy, and insurance, while highlighting significant infrastructure developments, including new airports and logistics expansion.

The Japanese delegation expressed strong support for Viksit Bharat @2047, with business leaders like Suntory Holdings CEO Takeshi Niinami and NEC Corporation’s Tanakaa Shigehiro praising India’s investment climate and PM Modi’s Make in India, Make for the World vision.

The meeting reinforced the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, with both sides optimistic about strengthening business ties in the years ahead.
