Jabalpur, 8th April.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha election campaign in Madhya Pradesh with a spirited roadshow in Jabalpur on Sunday. Accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, state PWD minister Rakesh Singh, and the BJP’s Jabalpur Lok Sabha candidate Ashish Dubey, PM Modi embarked on the energetic campaign event.

The roadshow, which commenced around 6:30 pm from Shaheed Bhagat Singh crossing, traversed through the city’s bustling streets, culminating at Adi Shankaracharya crossing in the Gorakhpur locality by 7:15 pm. As the saffron-colored vehicle carrying PM Modi and his entourage moved along the route, they proudly displayed the BJP’s poll symbol, the ‘lotus,’ amidst enthusiastic supporters.

The streets were thronged with a large number of people, eagerly capturing the moment on their mobile phones as they lined the route. Many held placards proclaiming slogans such as ‘Mera Ghar Modi Ka Ghar’ (My Home is Modi’s Home) and ‘Mera Pariwar Modi Ka Pariwar’ (My Family is Modi’s Family), echoing the BJP’s campaign to portray PM Modi as representing every citizen of the country.

The festivities were further enhanced by tribal groups performing traditional dances along the route, including the vibrant ‘Badhai Nritya’ characteristic of the state’s Bundelkhand region, traditionally performed during celebrations like weddings and childbirth.

Special arrangements were made to shower PM Modi with flowers as the roadshow traversed through the bustling Gorakhpur market, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

Jabalpur holds significance as part of the state’s Mahakoshal region, which includes Chhindwara, the sole Lok Sabha seat that eluded the BJP in the 2019 polls. With Jabalpur and Chhindwara among the constituencies set to vote in the first phase on April 19, along with Sidhi, Shahdol (ST), Mandla (ST), and Balaghat, the BJP aims to build upon its past successes and secure victory in the upcoming elections.
