PM Modi Launches ₹58,000 Crore Development Spree in Amaravati, Pledges “Swarna Andhra”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a massive ₹58,000 crore worth of development projects in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, signaling a major push for the state’s infrastructure and growth. He declared that these projects would “strengthen infrastructure and accelerate the growth of Andhra Pradesh,” envisioning Amaravati as a hub of tradition and progress.

Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi emphasized that Amaravati is not just a city but a dream coming to fruition – a new Amaravati and a new Andhra Pradesh. He invoked the name of Amaravati, recalling its significance as Indra Lok’s capital, and stated that this was a positive sign for the creation of “Swarna Andhra,” a golden Andhra Pradesh that will propel India’s development. He hailed Amaravati as a “force” that will transform Andhra Pradesh into a modern and advanced state.

“NTR Garu envisioned a developed Andhra Pradesh,” PM Modi declared, urging collective efforts to realize this dream. He pledged the Central Government’s full support to the state government in developing necessary infrastructure across key sectors like Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Green Energy, Education, and Healthcare.

Highlighting India’s rapid infrastructure modernization, PM Modi pointed to the thousands of crores allocated for road and rail projects in Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized the benefits of enhanced connectivity for farmers, industries, and tourism, citing the Renigunta-Naidupeta Highway as an example of improved access to religious sites like Tirupati Balaji.

He noted the significant increase in railway funding for Andhra Pradesh, leading to 100% electrification and the introduction of modern trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat. He also highlighted the modernization of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

PM Modi stressed the multiplier effect of infrastructure development, creating employment opportunities for youth and strengthening various industries. He reiterated the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, citing initiatives like PM Fasal Bima Yojana and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. He also reaffirmed support for the Polavaram Project, stating its potential to transform millions of lives.

Acknowledging Andhra Pradesh’s role in India’s space program, PM Modi announced the establishment of a new defense institution and the foundation stone laying for DRDO’s Nava Durga Missile Testing Range in Nagayalanka. He emphasized the range’s significance in strengthening India’s defense capabilities.

Promoting national unity, PM Modi announced the establishment of an Ekta Mall in Visakhapatnam, showcasing the diverse products of artisans and craftsmen from across India. He also announced that the 10th International Day of Yoga would be celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, urging people to participate and set a world record.

The projects inaugurated and launched included:

  • National Highway projects worth thousands of crores, enhancing road connectivity and safety.
  • Railway projects, including line doubling and electrification, boosting connectivity and capacity.
  • Infrastructure projects for Amaravati, including the Legislative Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, and housing for over 5,200 families.
  • Trunk infrastructure and flood mitigation projects.
  • Land Pooling Scheme Infrastructure projects, featuring modern roads and utilities.
  • The Missile Test Range at Nagayalanka, enhancing India’s defense capabilities.
  • PM Ekta Mall in Visakhapatnam, promoting national integration and local economy.

PM Modi concluded his address by assuring the people of Andhra Pradesh of his unwavering support, pledging to work alongside the state government to accelerate the state’s growth.
