PM Modi Lauds Indian Diaspora in Nigeria, Highlights India’s Global Achievements

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in Abuja during his first visit to Nigeria as PM. He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and celebrated the contributions of Indians in Nigeria, emphasizing their role in fostering ties between the two nations.
PM Modi highlighted India and Nigeria’s shared values of democracy, diversity, and demographic strength. He acknowledged the Indian community’s active participation in Nigeria’s development through various fields, from education and healthcare to business.
Praising India’s achievements, the PM noted India’s rise as the fifth-largest economy and its strides in space exploration, defense, and technology. “India has emerged as a ray of hope for growth, peace, and democracy globally,” he said.
PM Modi also celebrated India’s cultural influence in Nigeria, with yoga, Hindi, and Indian films gaining popularity. He extended an invitation to the diaspora to visit India during upcoming celebrations, including Republic Day, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, and the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
The PM concluded by reiterating India’s commitment to supporting Africa and enhancing its global voice, as demonstrated during India’s G20 presidency.
