New Delhi, 2nd Oct. As Tamil cinema legend Rajinikanth continues to recover in a Chennai hospital following a recent medical procedure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to the actor’s wife, Latha, to check on his health. Tamil Nadu BJP State President K. Annamalai shared this update on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

In a post, Annamalai shared a picture of Rajinikanth with PM Modi and wrote, “Our Hon. PM Thiru @narendramodi avl spoke telephonically to Smt. Latha Rajinikanth avl today to inquire about the health of our Super Star Thiru @rajinikanth avl. Hon PM was informed about the well-being of Thiru Rajinikanth avl post-surgery & Hon PM wished him a speedy recovery.”

The 72-year-old megastar recently underwent an elective procedure to treat swelling in a blood vessel connected to his heart. Medical professionals placed a stent in his aorta, and his condition is reported to be stable. Rajinikanth is expected to be discharged from the hospital in a few days, following his successful surgery, which was carried out by a team of specialized doctors in a cath lab.

Prior to his hospitalization, Rajinikanth was seen at the audio launch of his upcoming film Vettaiyan, a much-anticipated multi-starrer. At the event, the actor wowed the audience with his dance moves. Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, marks Rajinikanth’s reunion with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years. The two last worked together in the 1991 hit Hum, which was a massive success. Hum also starred Govinda, Anupam Kher, Kimi Katkar, and others, and is remembered for contributing plot points to Rajinikanth’s iconic 1995 film Baasha.

Rajinikanth’s fans eagerly await his recovery, as the actor prepares for the release of Vettaiyan and more upcoming projects.
