New Delhi, 9th August. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday praised Neeraj Chopra as “excellence personified” following his historic achievement of winning back-to-back Olympic medals.
Chopra secured the silver in men’s javelin throw at the Paris Games, becoming the first Indian track-and-field athlete to achieve this feat.
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem set a new Olympic record with a 92.97m throw, earning his country’s first individual gold. Chopra’s throw of 89.45m in the second round earned him the silver medal.
In a post on X, PM Modi expressed his admiration, stating, “Neeraj Chopra is excellence personified! Time and again he’s shown his brilliance. India is elated that he comes back with yet another Olympic success.”
He continued, “Congratulations to him on winning the Silver. He will continue to motivate countless upcoming athletes to pursue their dreams and make our nation proud.”
