Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj as a symbol of “unity in diversity,” highlighting the massive participation of youth in the historic religious event. The Prime Minister described the Kumbh as a festival that showcases equality, harmony, and the cultural unity of India. He also drew parallels between the Kumbh Mela in the north and southern festivals like Pushkaram on rivers such as Godavari, Krishna, and Kaveri, underscoring how traditions bind the country together.
PM Modi praised the extensive use of digital technology in this year’s Kumbh Mela, calling it a source of pride for India.
The episode, aired a week earlier than usual due to Republic Day celebrations, also included PM Modi’s tributes to the Constituent Assembly members on the 75th anniversary of India’s Republic and appreciation for the Election Commission’s role in modernizing the electoral process. Additionally, he paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose ahead of ‘Parakram Diwas,’ recounting a thrilling escape story that embodied Netaji’s bravery.
PM Modi extended Republic Day greetings in advance, urging citizens to draw inspiration from the nation’s heroes and democratic traditions.
