New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded the inclusion of the Bhagavad Gita and Natyashastra in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register, calling it a proud moment for every Indian and a global acknowledgement of India’s civilisational heritage.
Responding to a post by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote:

The UNESCO Memory of the World Register is an international initiative to safeguard documentary heritage of universal value. The recognition of the Gita, a sacred Hindu scripture, and the Natyashastra, an ancient treatise on performing arts attributed to Bharata Muni, reflects their lasting impact on global thought, spirituality, and cultural expression.
