Paris, 13th Feb. During his visit to France for the AI Action Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented an eco-friendly wooden alphabet set to Mirabel Rose Vance, daughter of US Vice President JD Vance.

This sustainable wooden alphabet set is designed to be a safe and engaging learning tool for children, enhancing motor skills and cognitive abilities. Unlike plastic alternatives, it is free from harmful chemicals and promotes environmental conservation.

In addition, PM Modi gifted a Dokra artwork—musicians with studded stonework—to French President Emmanuel Macron as a symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage.

PM Modi was on a three-day visit to France from February 10-12, where he participated in discussions on Artificial Intelligence (AI), commerce, energy, and cultural linkages. He co-chaired the AI Action Summit alongside global leaders and tech CEOs, focusing on AI-driven economic growth and ethical AI governance.

Following his engagements in France, PM Modi traveled to the United States at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. He was received at the Joint Base Andrews in Washington, D.C., by India’s Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, along with senior officials.

This marks PM Modi’s first visit to the US since Donald Trump’s re-election. Upon arrival, he headed to Blair House, where members of the Indian diaspora gathered to greet him with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Modi, Modi.” In a symbolic gesture, the US flag at Blair House was replaced with the Indian flag before his arrival.

During his stay in the US on February 12-13, PM Modi is expected to engage in high-level meetings, including discussions with President Trump. Since November 2024, PM Modi and Trump have spoken twice over the phone. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had earlier attended Trump’s inauguration ceremony and held discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with participating in the QUAD Foreign Ministers’ meeting in January 2025.
