PM Modi Flags Off Hisar-Ayodhya Flight, Lays Foundation for New Terminal at Maharaja Agrasen Airport

Hisar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday flagged off the inaugural commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone of the new terminal building at Maharaja Agrasen Airport, marking a major step forward in enhancing Haryana’s aviation connectivity.

As part of the Centre’s commitment to making air travel safe, affordable, and accessible to all, the new terminal will be developed at an estimated cost of over ₹410 crore. The facility will include a state-of-the-art passenger terminal, a cargo terminal, and an Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, with the entire project targeted for completion within two years.

The launch of scheduled flights from Hisar to Ayodhya twice a week — along with thrice-weekly services to Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh — is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity in Haryana.

PM Modi, who is on a day-long visit to Haryana, is launching a slew of development initiatives worth ₹10,000 crore across the state. The occasion also coincides with the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a key architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social justice.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and several other state ministers were present during the event.
