New Delhi, 21st Jan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya on the occasion of their Statehood Day, lauding their contributions to India’s progress and development.
In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister celebrated the unique heritage, culture, and achievements of each state:
For Tripura:
“Best wishes to the people of Tripura on their Statehood Day. The state is making noteworthy contributions to national progress. It is also known for its rich culture and heritage. May Tripura continue to scale new heights of development.”
For Manipur:
“Greetings to the people of Manipur on their Statehood Day. We are incredibly proud of the role played by the people of Manipur towards India’s development. My best wishes for the progress of Manipur.”
For Meghalaya:
“On Meghalaya’s Statehood Day, I convey my best wishes to the people of the state. Meghalaya is admired for its natural beauty and the industrious nature of the people. Praying for the continuous development of the state in the times to come.”
The three northeastern states attained statehood on January 21, 1972, marking a historic moment in India’s journey toward inclusivity and regional development. Highlighting the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of these states, PM Modi reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring their continued growth and prosperity.
Statehood Day celebrations across Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya included cultural programs, flag hoisting ceremonies, and community events, reflecting the vibrant traditions and unity of the region.
