PM Modi Condoles Loss of Lives in Bengaluru Building Collapse, Announces Ex-Gratia

New Delhi, 24th Oct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the recent building collapse in Bengaluru. In a statement, he announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the families of each deceased victim and Rs. 50,000 for those injured in the tragic incident.

Taking to social media platform X, the Prime Minister shared, “Anguished by the loss of lives due to the collapse of a building in Bengaluru. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover soon.”

The incident, which occurred on October 22 during heavy rainfall, has claimed multiple lives, with rescue operations still ongoing. The compensation aims to assist the affected families during this difficult time.
