Ahmedabad, 24th Jan. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs. 651 crore by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Thursday. The event, attended by dignitaries including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, marked a significant step towards the city’s growth.

In his address, Amit Shah spoke about the importance of long-term planning, quoting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of planning 25 years ahead for the country’s future. He emphasized that the development projects launched today, including the construction of stepwells and the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Solar Rooftop Yojana, were designed with future needs in mind, particularly in terms of addressing climate change and water scarcity.

Shah highlighted that the construction of stepwells for rainwater harvesting in more than 350 societies in Ranip was a key initiative to ensure sustainable water management. These projects, which are funded by the central and state governments as well as AMC, will benefit the residents of the area without incurring any cost. He also encouraged residents to embrace the Pradhan Mantri Solar Rooftop Yojana, which will promote solar energy usage, saving electricity and reducing expenses.

A major highlight of the projects is the construction of a significant road in Ranip, which is expected to transform the area’s landscape, benefitting residents from Naranpura, Vadaj, Ranip, Chandlodia, and Ghatlodia. Shri Shah assured that the overall development of the area would be completed by 2029, promising significant improvements in infrastructure.

Shah also announced the launch of a new scheme aimed at providing milk to girls and ensuring nutritious meals for children in Anganwadis. He encouraged the community to adopt and support Anganwadis, citing the success of similar initiatives in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for their efforts in driving these developments, Shah commended the ongoing progress in the region. He also urged people to visit the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, describing it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience and the world’s largest fair.
