New Delhi, 19th Dec. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic boat mishap in Mumbai, Maharashtra, which resulted in the loss of lives. In a tweet, the Prime Minister extended his condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.
“The boat mishap in Mumbai is saddening. Condolences to the bereaved families. I pray that the injured recover soon. Those affected are being assisted by the authorities,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
As part of the assistance, the Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased. Additionally, an amount of Rs. 50,000 will be provided to each of the injured.
The boat mishap, which occurred on December 18, 2024, has left several people dead and injured. Authorities are providing necessary assistance to the affected families, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
The Prime Minister’s Office has assured that all possible support is being extended to the victims and their families during this difficult time.
