Pema Khandu Sworn in as Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister for Third Term

 Pema Khandu of the BJP took oath as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for the third consecutive term at a ceremony held in Itanagar on Thursday. Alongside him, Chowna Mein retained his position as Deputy Chief Minister, and 10 other ministers were also sworn in.

The oath-taking ceremony, held at Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall, saw elected leaders Ojing Tasing, Kento Jini, Balo Raja, Mama Natung, Dasanglu Pul, Pasang Dorjee Sona, Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, Wangki Lowang, Nyato Dukam, and Biyuram Wahge assume office as Cabinet Ministers.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda graced the event, highlighting the BJP’s retention of power in Arunachal Pradesh, securing 46 seats in the 60-member Assembly. Ten BJP MLAs, including Khandu, were elected unopposed prior to the April 19 voting. The BJP also swept both of the state’s Lok Sabha seats.
