‘Pakistan a Rogue State Sponsoring Terrorism’, says India at UN

United Nations: In a powerful intervention at the United Nations, India launched a sharp attack on Pakistan, accusing it of openly admitting to sponsoring terrorism. Speaking at the inaugural session of the Victims of Terrorism Association Network (VOTAN), India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Yojna Patel, cited Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s recent televised confession about Pakistan’s history of training and funding terror organizations.

“It is unfortunate that one particular delegation has chosen to misuse and undermine this forum to indulge in propaganda and make baseless allegations against India,” Ambassador Patel said, delivering a strong rebuttal to Pakistan’s narrative.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Patel stressed, “The whole world has heard Pakistan’s Defence Minister admitting and confessing Pakistan’s history of supporting, training, and funding terrorist organizations. This open confession surprises no one and exposes Pakistan as a rogue state fuelling global terrorism and destabilizing the region.”

India’s strong response comes amid heightened tensions following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists. The incident has further strained India-Pakistan relations.

Patel urged the international community to no longer “turn a blind eye” to such blatant confessions and to take decisive action against state-sponsored terrorism. India’s remarks reflect its ongoing diplomatic efforts to hold Pakistan accountable for what it describes as a long-standing policy of fostering terrorism in the region.
