Pahalgam Terror Attack: Rs 20 Lakh Reward for Information on Terrorists

Pahalgam: The Anantnag Police on Wednesday announced a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh for anyone who provides crucial information that leads to the identification of the terrorists responsible for the horrific Pahalgam terror attack. The brutal attack on Tuesday claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists, in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

In an official statement, the police said, “Any information leading to the neutralisation of the terrorists involved in this cowardly attack shall be rewarded with Rs 20 lakh. The identity of the informer will be kept strictly confidential.” The announcement follows the release of sketches and a photo of the terrorists, identified as Asif Fuji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha, who are reportedly members of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

According to sources, three to four terrorists were involved in the deadly assault on the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, firing continuously for at least 20 minutes using AK-47 rifles. The terrorists deliberately targeted tourists, leaving a trail of death and destruction.

The attack, which has sparked nationwide outrage, saw the assailants interrogating victims about their religion and forcing some to recite religious verses. In some cases, the terrorists went as far as humiliating victims by making them strip before executing them. Many women were left widowed, and children orphaned, as the terrorists ruthlessly ended 26 lives in a matter of moments.

As investigations continue, the authorities have intensified their efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. The announcement of the Rs 20 lakh reward for information underscores the urgency and seriousness of the operation to track down and neutralize the terrorists behind the Pahalgam terror attack.
