Telangana, 12th Jan. South Central Railway (SCR) has set out a total of 208 special trains that are either originating or journeying across from Hyderabad until now, in order to control passenger rush ahead of the Sankranti festival.
From January 1 to January 20, all trains were running to cater to and accommodate the arriving/departing passengers. Officials from the Secunderabad railway division have issued a travel advisory to avoid crowding platforms at the entrances or waiting areas during the festive season.
Railways, according to officials, are taking steps such as running special trains to accommodate all train passengers. Jansadharan (only second seating accommodation), AC special, Suvidha (special fare), and special trains are among the trains that run.
According to SCR chief public relations officer Ch Rakesh, 50 percent of the 208 trains, or more than 100, have their origin and destination points within the SCR zone. Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati are just a few of the major cities in the SCR zone. The Times of India reported on this.
Around 30 special trains originate in other zones and pass through the SCR zone, stopping at major stations such as Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Vizag. “We’re keeping an eye on the train waiting lists, and depending on demand, more special trains will be assigned,” Rakesh said.
