New Delhi, 8th Dec. In protest against the decision of suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs, 120 opposition Rajya Sabha MPs will sit on a dharna in the Parliament premises today. This decision has been taken after mutual discussion to intensify the protest.

The next day, on Thursday, the opposition MPs of the Lok Sabha will join the ongoing dharna in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi to show their solidarity.

On Monday last week, 12 MPs were suspended for the entire winter session. Of these, six MPs are from Congress, 2-2 from Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena, 1-1 from CPI and CPI-M. The government had demanded their suspension under Rule 256 for ‘violent demonstration’ in the Upper House during the monsoon session.

According to the information, a senior Congress strategist met CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Tuesday and discussed the opposition’s further strategy.
