New Delhi, 16th May: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday asserted that Operation Sindoor is a powerful demonstration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering political resolve, robust intelligence coordination, and the unmatched strike capabilities of India’s armed forces.

Speaking at the inauguration of the upgraded Multi Agency Centre (MAC) in Delhi, Shah said, “Operation Sindoor is a unique symbol of Prime Minister Modi’s firm political will, the precise intelligence of our agencies and the unmatched strike capability of our three armed forces.”

The MAC, which operates under the Intelligence Bureau, was established after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to ensure seamless intelligence-sharing among India’s security and law enforcement agencies. The upgraded centre is aimed at further strengthening coordination in counter-terror operations.

Operation Sindoor, conducted on May 7, involved India carrying out precision strikes on terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. The strikes were hailed as a decisive response aimed at dismantling cross-border terror infrastructure.

While India and Pakistan agreed to halt military action on May 10, New Delhi clarified that the operation had only been paused, not concluded. Prime Minister Modi had earlier described Operation Sindoor as part of a new, uncompromising doctrine in India’s fight against terrorism.

“This is the new normal,” Modi said in a national address, warning Islamabad that “India will not bow down to nuclear blackmail.” He reiterated that the nation would not mix dialogue with terror, sending a firm message that “terror and trade, terror and talks cannot go together.”

The upgraded MAC is expected to play a vital role in preempting and responding to future threats through real-time intelligence exchange, reinforcing India’s commitment to national security.
