Hisar, 11th Oct. An independent candidate filed his nomination papers for the November 3 by-election to the Adampur Assembly constituency in Haryana on Monday.
The resignation of Kuldeep Bishnoi as Congress MLA in August necessitated a bypoll for the Adampur seat in Hisar district. On August 4, Bishnoi joined the BJP.
According to Subhash Chander, the Returning Officer for the Adampur Vidhan Sabha constituency, an independent candidate filed nomination papers on Monday.
The process of submitting nomination papers for the byelection began on October 7.
Candidates can file nomination papers in the office of the District Development and Panchayat Officer, Hisar, which is located on the first floor of the Mini Secretariat Complex, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., until October 14. After the nomination papers have been reviewed on October 15, nominations can be withdrawn until October 17.
The byelection will be held on November 3 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ballots will be counted on November 6.
Among the prominent parties, the ruling BJP announced on Saturday that party leader Kuldeep Bishnoi’s son Bhavya Bishnoi would run in the bypoll.
Satender Singh was named as the AAP’s candidate for the Adampur byelection on Friday. Singh, who previously worked for the BJP, joined the AAP in Hisar last month in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
