North-Eastern cultural centre in Delhi to promote rich heritage of NE


Replying to a question in Rajya Sabha the development of North-Eastern region Jitendra Singh gave information of buying 5341 sqm. (1.32 acres) of land for building North Eastern Cultural and Information Centre in Delhi.

The land has bought from Delhi Development Authority for showcasing of history, culture, festival, cuisine of eight north eastern state. The CPWD have been entrusted to take up architectural consultancy and construction of the building. North Eastern Council (NEC) have allocated fund for starting construction work.

The centre will facilities promotion of tourism, library, Knowledge and Resource Centre in the National Capital. This Centre would be a dissemination of knowledge about the rich cultural heritage of the North East.
