Jodhpur, 25th Nov. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday that there is no anti-incumbency against the Congress party and that they will form the government in the state again.
Gehlot also mentioned that the BJP leaders, including the prime minister and the Union home minister, tried to instigate people.
He expressed confidence that the Congress government will come back into power.
Gehlot highlighted the welfare laws and schemes implemented by the Congress, including guarantees such as an annual honorarium for women heads of families and affordable LPG cylinders.
He cited the example of Kerala, where the government was reelected based on their management of the coronavirus pandemic, and stated that the Congress government in Rajasthan also did excellent work in this regard.
Gehlot addressed the BJP’s targeting of him and the red diary controversy, stating that the BJP leaders are upset because they failed to topple his government through horse-trading.
He criticized the BJP’s language and challenged them to discuss local issues and the Congress’ schemes.
When asked about his role as chief minister if the Congress forms the government again, Gehlot explained that it is a tradition in the Congress for the AICC to send observers to gather the opinions of MLAs, and then a resolution is passed based on the decision of the high command.
He emphasized that the decision of the high command is acceptable to all.
The polling for the assembly seats in Rajasthan began on Saturday, with the BJP aiming to take power from the Congress, which hopes to overcome the state’s anti-incumbency tradition.
