New Delhi- New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, strengthening bilateral relations between India and New Zealand.
Welcoming PM Luxon and his delegation, President Murmu highlighted the nations’ close ties, rooted in democracy, the rule of law, and strong people-to-people connections. She fondly recalled her State Visit to New Zealand in August 2024, noting the country’s natural beauty and cultural diversity.
Discussions focused on enhancing educational cooperation through institutional exchanges, setting up New Zealand university campuses in India, and dual degree programs. President Murmu also acknowledged the growth of bilateral trade and explored new opportunities in customs, horticulture, forestry, disaster management, and traditional medicine.
President Murmu praised the Indian community’s contribution to New Zealand’s progress, while both leaders agreed that recent high-level visits have added positive momentum to the India-New Zealand partnership.
