New Delhi, 12th March: The two-day conference of Additional Directors General (ADGs) and Deputy Directors General (DDGs) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) commenced on Wednesday at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, bringing together senior NCC leadership to discuss key policy issues and future strategies.
Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed the conference on the opening day and emphasised the need to transform the NCC in line with the national vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Highlighting the organisation’s role in nation-building, Singh appreciated the NCC’s contribution to social outreach programmes conducted across the country, which engage youth in community development and national service.
During his interaction with senior NCC officers representing various directorates, the Defence Secretary called for synergised efforts aligned with the policies and initiatives of the Central Government.
He said such coordinated efforts would help achieve the objectives of the NCC more effectively and strengthen its role in shaping disciplined and responsible youth.
Director General NCC Virendra Vats also addressed the conference and outlined several initiatives undertaken during the past year to expand the organisation and improve infrastructure and logistical support.
Key issues discussed during the meeting included enhancing the quality of training, infrastructure development, and introducing emerging areas such as drone operations and cyber training for cadets.
Officials said the conference provides an important platform for the senior leadership of the NCC to exchange ideas, share best practices and develop a roadmap for the organisation’s future growth.
The deliberations are expected to contribute to further strengthening the NCC’s training framework and expanding opportunities for cadets in new technological and strategic domains.
