NCB, Delhi Police Bust ₹27.4 Crore Narco-Network; Five Arrested

New Delhi – In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Delhi Police have dismantled a narco-network operating in Delhi-NCR, recovering methamphetamine, MDMA, and cocaine worth ₹27.4 crore. Five individuals, including four Nigerian nationals, were arrested in the operation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the agencies for their efforts, stating, “Our relentless hunt against the drug trade continues. In line with the Modi government’s zero tolerance against drugs, a major narco-network was busted in Delhi-NCR. I applaud NCB and Delhi Police for this major breakthrough.”

Operation Details
The joint team acted on intelligence about a high-quality methamphetamine exchange in Delhi’s Chhatarpur area. Surveillance led to the interception of a vehicle carrying 5.103 kg of crystal methamphetamine worth ₹10.2 crore. The occupants, including four Nigerians from influential families, were taken into custody.

Further investigations led to raids at an “African Kitchen” in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, where officials seized 1.156 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 4.142 kg of Afghan heroin, and 5.776 kg of MDMA (ecstasy pills), valued at ₹16.4 crore. A follow-up search at a Greater Noida apartment resulted in the recovery of 389 grams of Afghan heroin and 26 grams of cocaine.

Drug Syndicate & Visa Fraud
The arrested individuals were allegedly running a syndicate that facilitated African youth in obtaining student visas for universities in Delhi-NCR and Punjab. Some of these visas were reportedly used as a cover for drug peddling and cryptocurrency-based transactions.

Authorities are now working to trace the syndicate’s backward and forward linkages. The NCB urged citizens to report narcotics-related activities via the MANAS National Narcotics Helpline (1933) as part of its intensified war on drug trafficking.
