Bengaluru, 4th March. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the investigation into the explosion that occurred at Rameshwaram Cafe in Brookfield, East Bengaluru on March 1, injuring at least 10 people, according to sources on Monday.
The decision to hand over the probe to the NIA comes after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed readiness to consider such a move if necessary. Karnataka Police had initially led the investigation, with assistance from the NIA, National Security Group (NSG), and Intelligence Bureau (IB).
The primary suspect, described as a man wearing a cap, mask, and glasses, remains at large, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Established in 2008 in the wake of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the NIA is tasked with investigating terror-related cases and is recognized as a specialized probe agency in such matters.
