New Delhi- Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, addressing the valedictory function of the 5th Rajya Sabha Internship Program, underscored the importance of nationalism, institutional integrity, and vigilance against forces inimical to India’s interests.
Highlighting India’s rapid economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and digitization over the past decade, Dhankhar emphasized that national interest must always take precedence over personal or political considerations. He urged the youth to uphold constitutional duties alongside fundamental rights, stating that social harmony, family values, and environmental responsibility were crucial for national progress.
Expressing concern over external and internal threats, he warned against demographic shifts caused by illegal migration, calling it an “infiltration” that affects employment, education, and security. He also criticized the alleged influence of foreign funds in India’s electoral process, citing recent remarks by the U.S. President on external interference in democratic outcomes.
Referring to historical invasions, Dhankhar stressed the need for vigilance to safeguard India’s civilization and democratic institutions. He urged citizens to resist forces attempting to undermine democracy and to stand firm against divisive narratives.
The Vice President concluded by advocating for institutional respect, condemning attempts to undermine constitutional functionaries, and calling for an end to manipulative political strategies.
