My Govt is Working at Three Times the Speed of Previous Govts: President Murmu

  President Droupadi Murmu, addressing the joint sitting of Parliament, outlined the government’s key initiatives and vision for the nation’s progress, emphasizing its commitment to development, digital transformation, and social welfare.

She highlighted the launch of the ‘Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’, aimed at benefiting five crore people from the tribal community. Acknowledging the nation’s 75-year journey since adopting the Constitution, she paid tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar and other members of the Constitution Committee.

President Murmu stated that the government, in its third term, is operating at three times the speed of previous administrations. She reiterated the commitment towards ‘One Nation, One Election’ and highlighted steps taken on the Waqf Amendment Bill.

A significant focus has been placed on youth education and employment opportunities. Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, the government has decided to provide health insurance to six crore senior citizens aged 70 years and above.

Referring to the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, she described it as a festival of cultural traditions and social awakening. She also expressed condolences for the accident on Mauni Amavasya, praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Emphasizing women-led development, she noted the government’s goal of creating three crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’. She highlighted the increasing participation of women in various fields, from fighter aircraft to police forces and corporate leadership, as well as their success in the Olympics.

Discussing India’s advancements in technology, President Murmu underscored the India AI Mission, aimed at positioning the country as a global innovation powerhouse. She noted that India’s UPI digital transaction system has gained global recognition, and the government is leveraging digital technology as a tool for social justice and equality.

Highlighting concerns over cybersecurity, she pointed out that digital fraud, cybercrime, and deepfake technology pose significant risks to social, financial, and national security. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening cybersecurity measures.

On the aviation sector, President Murmu stated that airline companies have placed orders for 1,700 new aircraft, reflecting the industry’s rapid expansion.

Her address set the tone for the government’s roadmap in the upcoming Budget session, focusing on economic growth, digital transformation, and inclusive development.
