Mumbai, 9th August.
As of Thursday, Mumbai has received a total of 1,69,028 applications from women for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, an official announcement revealed. Out of these, 1,38,971 applications have been validated, according to Mumbai Collector Sanjay Yadav.

Describing the response as “spontaneous,” Yadav encouraged more women to apply for the scheme, which is designed to empower them through financial assistance. The initiative aims to support women with an annual family income of less than ₹2.5 lakh by providing a monthly aid of ₹1,500.

To facilitate the process, 75 help centres have been established at the ward level throughout the island city. These centres, staffed by civic and state government employees, are currently engaged in scrutinizing the applications.
