Mumbai Police Recreate Crime Scene in Knife Attack on Saif Ali Khan

Mumbai, 21st Jan. Mumbai Police on Tuesday recreated the crime scene involving a knife attack on actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence, as part of their investigation. The accused, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, was brought to the crime scene by a team of 20 officials early in the morning.

Crime Scene Recreation and Investigation
The police team, arriving in four vans around 5:30 AM, entered the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra with the accused. Fakir, who had allegedly stabbed Khan multiple times inside his 12th-floor apartment on January 16, was also taken to Bandra railway station and a garden where he had slept after fleeing the scene.

The 54-year-old actor, who underwent surgery following the attack, remains in recovery.

Arrest and Custody
Fakir, a Bangladeshi national residing in India illegally under the alias Vijay Das, was apprehended on Sunday from Thane. According to officials, Fakir had been living under a false identity. After retracing his movements post-attack, police brought him back to Bandra police station for further questioning.

The Bandra metropolitan magistrate’s court has remanded Fakir to five days in police custody for interrogation.
