Mumbai, 7th August.
Mumbai police are examining a video that appears to show an individual assaulting a speech and hearing impaired man, following his murder in the city. The video was found as part of the investigation into the death of Arshad Ali Sadique Ali Shaikh, a 30-year-old resident of Kalina in Santacruz.

According to officials, it is suspected that one of the two accused, Shivjeet Singh or Jay Chawda, both of whom are also speech and hearing impaired, made a video call during the incident. The two suspects were arrested on Monday and have been remanded in police custody until August 12.

The case came to light on Monday when a Railway Protection Force constable at Dadar station noticed a man with a large trolley bag on platform No. 11. The constable’s suspicion led to the search of the bag, which revealed Shaikh’s body. Police confirmed that Shaikh had been bludgeoned to death with a hammer.

Preliminary investigations suggest the murder was the result of a dispute over a woman. The newly surfaced video, showing a person attacking the victim, is now being scrutinized as part of the ongoing probe into the case.
