MP’s State Press Club to Host Indian Journalism Festival from April 14-16, Several Senior Journalist to Take Part

Indore, 12th April. The State Press Club of Madhya Pradesh will organize the Indian Journalism Festival on April 14, 15, and 16. More than 100 senior journalists and editors from across the country will be in Indore for the festival, which is themed “Media and Society: Darkness of Faith.”

During the event, a souvenir ethics focused on media code of conduct will also be published. The Surendra Pratap Singh Memorial Media Award will be presented to 17 senior journalists for their outstanding investigative reporting at the festival. Media professionals who are doing outstanding work in the city will also be recognised.

While speaking with journalists, Praveen Kumar Khariwal, President of the State Press Club, MP, Navneet Shukla, Chief General Secretary, and Sudesh Tiwari, Program Coordinator, provided this information.

He stated that the Indian Journalism Festival was dedicated to senior journalists such as late Rahul Barpute, late Prabhash Joshi, late Rajendra Mathur, late Manikchand Vajpayee, late Sharad Joshi, late Abhay Chhajlani, and late Ved Pratap Vaidik, who helped Indore gain international recognition in journalism. The festival is celebrating its 15th year.

These personalities will be present:

The festival will begin at 11 a.m. on April 14 at Ravindra Natya Griha (RNT). A brainstorming session on the topic of trust in media and society will be held during the inaugural session. The speakers will include senior journalists Upendra Rai (New Delhi), Om Thanvi (Jaipur), Jaishankar Gupta (New Delhi), Ramesh Sharma (Bhopal), Sana Parveen Waris (Hyderabad), Kumar Rakesh (New Delhi), and Radheshyam Rai (New Delhi).

Chief Guest, senior journalist Omprakash Mehta, will be presented with the Shrinaresh Mehta Memorial Life Time Achievement Award by Uttam Swamiji.

Media persons of Indore will be honored

In the second session of the same day at 2.00 pm there will be a brainstorming on the topic ‘Popularity and Challenges of Cartoons’. Senior cartoonists Rajendra Ghodpkar (New Delhi), Manoj Sinha (New Delhi), Sandeep Adhwaryu, Nilesh Khare (New Delhi), Pawan Kumar (Patna), Abhishek Tiwari (Jaipur), Nilesh Khare (New Delhi) and Ismail Lahiri (Indore) will participate in this session.

Media persons of Indore will be honored with awards on this day at 7 pm at Srimaya Celebration AB Road.

On the second day of the event, on April 15, at 11 am, there will be a brainstorming session on the topics ‘Radio to TV Journalism’, ‘Voice and Style’. Harish Bhimani (Mumbai), Yunus Khan (Mumbai), Manoj Bhoyar (New Delhi), Kapil Sharma (New Delhi), Dr. Mansingh Parmar (Indore), Sanjay Patel (Indore) and RJ Vainu Bhatt (Indore) will take part in this.

In the second session, there will be a brainstorm on the topic of investigative journalism truth, truth, and courage. Nirmal Pathak (New Delhi), Shyamlal Yadav (New Delhi), Vikas Mishra (Nagpur), Sumit Awasthi (New Delhi), Dinesh Manesara (Nainital), Ranju Airi (Chandigarh), Subhash Jha (Dehradun) and Satyendra Pratap Singh (Kolkata) will participate in this session.

In this session, 17 senior journalists of the state will be decorated with the Surendra Pratap Singh Memorial Award.

On the last day of the event, on April 16, at 11 am, a brainstorming session will be held on the topic ‘Our country in the eyes of foreign media’. Pushpendra Kulshrestha (New Delhi), S Venkatnarayan (New Delhi), Yuvraj Dhimre (Kathmandu), Peenaz Tyagi (New Delhi), Subir Bhowmik (New Delhi), Ashish Singh (New Delhi) and Neeraj Gupta (Mumbai) will participate in this session.

In the second session, there will be a brainstorm about circulation, TRP and likes. Subhash Shirke (New Delhi), Jitendra Kumar (New Delhi), Vijay Kumar Baviskar (Pune), Yashwant Deshmukh (Dubai) and Girish Wankhede (Mumbai) will participate in this brainstorming.

Master Classes for Journalism Students

This time, for the first time, three different master classes have been organized for journalism students at the Indian Journalism Festival. The master classes will focus on crime journalism, film journalism and vice-a-career. Students studying in various journalism colleges of the city will participate in this.

These master classes will be held daily from 9.00 am to 11.00 am in Pritamlal Dua Auditorium. Mumbai’s senior journalist Vivek Agarwal on crime journalism and Mumbai’s senior journalist Ajit Rai on film journalism will take master classes.

Shikhar Samvad-2

Khariwal said that on this Indian Journalism Festival, a meeting of presidents and chief officials of all major press clubs and journalist organizations across the country has also been organized. This type of meeting was organized for the first-time last year at this festival. Now for the second consecutive year this meeting has been organized as Shikhar Samvad-2.

Journey of journalism

Along with this, at the festival, an exhibition depicting the journey of 120 years of newspapers in India has been organized at Rabindra Natya Griha. Also, an exhibition of cartoons of 30 well-known cartoonists of the country focusing on contemporary issues will be organized at Pritamlal Dua Auditorium.
