Bhopal, 3rd Dec. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has emerged victorious from the Budhni constituency for the sixth time. He defeated Vikram Mastal, a Congress candidate who is also an actor-turned-politician, by a significant margin of 1,04,974 votes.
Chouhan, who holds the record for being the longest-serving Chief Minister of MP, initially won the Budhni Assembly seat in 1990. He then won a bypoll in 2006 and successfully retained the seat in 2008, 2013, and 2018.
In addition to his achievements in the state assembly, Chouhan has also served as a Member of Parliament from Vidisha in multiple terms, namely 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2004.
