Ayodhya, 4th August. The mother of the 12-year-old gang-rape victim from Ayodhya has alleged that certain individuals are pressuring her to reach a compromise in the case, a Bahujan Samaj Party leader has alleged. Vishwanath Pal said that these allegations emerged during a visit by a BSP delegation to the victim’s home on Saturday.
“During our visit, the victim’s mother informed us that some people were attempting to persuade her to settle the case. We assured her that justice will prevail and advised her not to succumb to any pressure or threats,” Pal, the BSP state president, told PTI Videos.
The BSP delegation also visited the women’s hospital where the victim is receiving treatment and conferred with the hospital superintendent about her condition.
The police have reported that the two accused, Moid Khan and Raju Khan, allegedly raped the girl two months ago and recorded the act. The crime came to light when the victim was found to be pregnant during a medical examination.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has alleged that Moid Khan is affiliated with the Samajwadi Party and is connected to Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad.
In response to the Samajwadi Party’s call for a DNA test, Pal stated that the victim’s testimony should be sufficient and dismissed the need for such a test. He criticized the administration for allegedly delaying the registration of an FIR until BSP intervention applied pressure.
Pal further accused the accused of being involved in land grabbing, including a pond and a ‘mazaar,’ and condemned the Samajwadi Party for allegedly shielding Khan. He asserted that there should be no political interference in the case and criticized the party for not taking action against the accused.
Ayodhya police arrested Moid Khan, who runs a bakery in Bhadarsa Nagar, and his employee Raju Khan on July 30 in connection with the rape. Following the arrest, the district administration demolished Khan’s bakery on Saturday.
