MoS Meenakshi Lekhi Unveils Vibrant ‘Wall of Delhi’ Mural

New Delhi, 22nd Sept. As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Union Minister of State for Culture Meenakshi Lekhi unveiled a vibrant mural in south Delhi depicting 75 major historical sites and famous places in the city on Wednesday.

Lekhi also shared a video of the large mural on a wall in the city’s South Extension area on Twitter.

The mural depicts a wide range of subjects, from the Mughal-era Red Fort to the British-era India Gate, and from Parliament House to the National War Memorial.

Other landmarks depicted in it include the Qutub Minar, the giant statue of Lord Hanuman at Jhandewalan, Jantar Mantar, and Humayun’s Tomb.

The Delhi Metro, DTC buses, and auto-rickshaws, all considered the city’s lifelines, have also been depicted in vibrant colors.

“Glimpses from the unveiling of the @MCD Delhi (Central Zone) ‘Wall of Delhi’ as part of Azadi Ka #AmritMahotsav at South Ex II, New Delhi,” Lekhi tweeted.

The mural was created by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in collaboration with Street Art India, according to civic officials.

They said the painting was done on the wall of a BSES office in the South Extension area, and it depicted 75 major historical sites and famous places in Delhi.

According to the officials, a selfie station has also been set up
