New Delhi, 7th Nov. The Ministry of Labour & Employment and Cygnus Ujala Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand healthcare job opportunities in India. The MoU was signed in the presence of Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Ms. Sumita Dawra.

This partnership aims to leverage the National Career Service (NCS) portal for posting healthcare vacancies, marking a first for a healthcare group directly engaging with NCS. The collaboration is expected to provide a significant boost to healthcare employment, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that the NCS portal is becoming a key platform for job seekers, providing access to a wide range of employment services across sectors, with a special focus on healthcare. “This partnership will help India’s youth find valuable roles and build careers in the healthcare sector,” he stated. He also noted that the MoU is part of broader efforts to create more job opportunities, with other MoUs already signed with companies like Amazon and TMI Group.

Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the ongoing upgrade to the NCS portal, which will feature a more user-friendly interface and incorporate advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence to enhance the job search experience for both employers and job seekers.

The MoU, effective for two years, mandates Cygnus Ujala Group and its staffing agencies to regularly post job vacancies on the NCS portal and organize job fairs at Model Career Centers (MCCs). The initiative will prioritize promoting employment for women, ensuring equal access to jobs, and increasing healthcare job opportunities in smaller cities.

The NCS portal, with over 35 lakh employers and 1.10 crore active job seekers, has mobilized over 3.46 crore vacancies since its launch. As of October 2024, more than 1 crore vacancies have already been posted this year.
